Hi all,

That IS the real cone! It's a flat diaphragm. Moves back and forth, moves lots of air. There's some videos out there or Marshall having some fun with a 9V battery, but that's about it...

Req,

This unit was designed for no surround, basket, etc. Quad 2 Ohm voice coils. Handles kW of power, but is a true 99 dB efficient, so you can get full excursion down deep with ~800W (sucker jumps 2.5" or so with a single 9V on one voice coil).

The shown unit IS installed. It's a dipole subwoofer. No box, no enclosure, nothing else needed. As shown, it will generate enough pressure just by moving back and forth that it will reproduce full Dolby Digital reference levels at 20 Hz.
