I had 1000 watts of my V1 Brahma 15" years ago and it was very nice //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif They don't require a ton of power to hit high excursion, and the short coil doesn't like a ton of power anyway (XBL^2 topology) compared to alot of the longer coil designs folks are used to -- notice the 600w rating Adire has on them now. Pick a good 1000 - 1500 watt amp and set those gains properly and you are good to go.
I would recommend a Sundown SAZ-1500D with the gains backed off a bit, but thats just me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif They are available for $450 with full warranty at any of my dealers at this time.
If that is outside of your budget look into a Directed D2400 from Ikesound, they go for $188 and do 1200 RMS. I had good luck with Directed refurbs from ike in the past. The one I bought worked for a year, I sold it, and it still works for him. Another option would be an Orion 1200D, which can be had for around $179 on ikesound. I've never had to deal with ike for support on a broken item... but that is a risk you will take with most e-bay / discount places.
