What do you think of Adire Audio 12 inch Tumult subwoofers? How do they compare with JL 12w7, and MTX 12" 9500. IIRC the are pretty much the same design as the older RE XXXs and simular in performance.

Old Tumult's were great. The new Tumult's have shorting rings that lowered inductance. I know only one person who has used the new Tumult's and he loves it. I preferred the old ones over the 9500 but love the W7's....

I'd say that's the other way around, it's adires technology, not RE's. Secondly, the mark III and IV drivers are reengineered from the ground up, the only older parts are the baskets IIRC. Not saying they've changed alot, since it was an amazing design to begin with, but the definelty aren't a XXX clone.

One thing I might note is that the brahmas are more inclined to an automotive install. The tumults may offer a higher performance, but you may need to play with your box some to get the results your looking for, but I guess it really depends on your system goals.

Actually, they are made mostly for car audio. Please note the lower efficiency and lower Vas (compared to many home audio drivers).
