hey kids, shortdude here.........

right now, i have a 12" RE SE d4 ( the older ones). this past weekend, pat built a moe lester box for me. it's 2 cubes tuned to 30hz. problem is the low notes are there now but anything from 60 - 65hz on up..... the bass dies out quick!!

my 2 8" tang bands, also in a moe lester designed-pwnt by pat built box don't have this problem. they're in the 1.6 cubes tuned to 28Hz box.

what should i do/get? i have a jbl bp1200.1

Hmm, I never had issues like that with an SE. Then again, all mine were tuned at 32hz. I did have some 10s in a 29hz box and they lacked on the high end somewhat...

I have a RE SX that will hit the lows almost as good but will have a ton more out put in that upper range and will love that 1200 watts

There is a huge difference between 8's and 12's for moving mass. Its physics. Get mid bass drivers.

i didn't. i had them crossed at 80HZ. the only song i can think of that had real high bass was...... 'vans' ( got my vans on but they look like sneakers....) and my 8's realy able to pick that up just fine.
