Adding to a box

What are the options to put inside a box to make it smaller? I cant get in the box except through the sub hole so any ideas?

Just cut pieces of wood and use some glue and screws to keep them nice and solid inside the box

Yea its about 5.2 now and I would like to make the interior volume about 4

Yea just cut out like 12x12 inch pieces of wood and stack them

get it to be 12" tall, wide, and deep. That is 1 cubic foot. Subtract 1 from 5.2 and you get 4.2. Is that close enough?

12 x 12 pieces 12 inches high would be 1 cube so do the math

Well lets say you use (6) 12x12 inch pieces of wood(1 inch thick) . That makes .5 cubic ft . Use 12 pieces and that makes 1 cubic ft and so on ..

Ok I got it but how hard would it be to one day take the extra wood back out if i glue it in?

In my opinion it would be a bit difficult without the right tools hence the awkward angles you would be working at . Because when putting the wood IN , you want it to be as solid and in place as possible therefore making it alittle hard to come loose.

What kind of glue would you recommend and what wood?

Really any type of wood .. MDF or regular Plywood would do the job . As for the glue , IMO if you are possibly going to be taking these pieces of wood out in the future I would use like a window caulk with some screws to keep the wood nice and secure .. Then when the day comes to take the added wood out , all you do is take out the screws and give the wood alil yanking lol .
