Adding speakers to a 2007 Dodge Caravan?

I recently replaced 3 blown speakers in our (used) Caravan (they were blown before we got it). After removing the dash, I saw mounts for what I believe are 5 1/4" speakers and the connectors, but the Caravan didn't have a premium sound system so they weren't added.

My question is, if I added 5 1/4" speakers, would they work? Or would it strain the amp? Or are the connectors even connected to the amp?

if there is connectors for the speakers im sure they r hooked up

Ok, so would it damage the amp if I hooked up some 5 1/4 speakers? They wouldn't be in parallel with the door speakers, would they? If they are, 4 ohms with 4 ohms in parallel is 2 ohms at the amp, which might damage the amp...?
