Adding some bass

2005 Silverado Ext cab with factory HU, Infinity 6.5s (front) and Infinity 4x6 in rear run off of HU. Would like to add some bass? Will be adding the PAC OEM-GM24 to achieve RCAs for amp hook up. Limited budget; don't need the folks a block away hearing me, but would like to add some bass to pick up where the components leave off. Listen to rock and country.

What size subs and how many? 10" or 12"? One or two?

What type of box? Was looking at http://www.subthump.com but they are pretty pricey.

What amp to power the selected/recommended subs?

Please leave the snide comments out; looking for real recommendations from honest people.

IMO if you want just a lil thump to add to ur factory system i'd recommend one of MTX's thunderforms you can get one that already has a built in amp.

Personally, i would get one or two of woofercookers sundown E8's that he's selling for $50 each. Thats one hell of a steal.

As for an enclosure, if you are not retarded and know how to at least somewhat work with wood and a saw, get someone on here to design you a ported enclosure that fits under the seat. The sundown E8s (8" subs) dont need more than .6cu ft a piece ported. Two of them would fit under the rear seat no problem.

Feed them around 300 RMS watts each, and you'll have quite a bit of bang for very, very cheap. You could even feed them less power, but they are built very sturdy, and can take more than rated.

Maybe a pair of 10's would suit you. kicker cvr's or some alpine type-s's would be what i would get for some nice added bass, but not over the top. Hell, even a single 10 inch cvr would be some nice added bass for your liking, if you really don't want to be heard from afar.

There are some nice KickerL5 pre-loaded boxes that would sound good for rock/country music, ebay has some great prices on them.
