Ok so back n december i had a pretty bad short and it started my sub box of fire and burned up a couple of my amps. well i pulled everything out and am redoing it all, ive upgraded about everything. this is wat im working with and would be super thankful for any tips or pointers on the best way to wire this all in and position of the different fuses tia

4 Gauge wire

Second battery

Battery Isolator(IDK the ampridge its just solid black)

Fuses:

150 amp 12V waterproof curcuit breaker

120 amp 12v waterproof curcuit breaker

60amp ANL

60 MAXI

also the amp for my sub (PDXM6) is 80 AMPS worth of fuses and my 4 channel (depending on witch one i decied to use shouldnt be anything over 40

What kind of 4g wire did you upgrade to?

How big is your 2nd batt and is it AGM?

For the piece of mind, I use 0g OFC to connect battery to 2nd battery and it is just my preference, but I would't use an isolator

This is what I meant

I'm in agreement with you. That's why I left the isolator portion off when I quoted you.

It's just a Napa commercial Marine battery I got several of then free and there decent batterys I'm just using for now until I can afford a nice drycell. And my 4 gauge is scoshe a friend gave to me I ordered some CHEAP 0 gauge (soundbox. Connected) i hate cutting all the corners i havd been settling for trash accessories but the price of oil gits me fucked up. The reason for the isolator is it seems like the last time I had 2 batterys hooked up they would drain each other I guess it may have been something completely unrelated. I would rather not use the isolator if at all possible as it does lower the charge level and the overall voltage the pdx seem to be very sensitive in that area. What's ur guys opinion on fuses seems like u can never have enough. Do they affect current I mean going from 1000 thread 0 gauge to something equivalent to a paper clip seems defeating? Also how exactly do the in line fuse amps reflect your amps fuses. I've heard add them up n take a zero off. I remember as a kid running a whole system on one fuse. What's this all about

Your inline fuse does not reflect your amp fuses. The inline fuse is there to protect your wire which then prevents your car catching fire. Personally, I find it cheaper to buy another amp rather a new car. Quality 0g CCA is rated at 200-250 amps. OFC is rated at 300-350 amps. NEVER fuse more than rated or fuse will not pop and wire will continue to burn

With a 600w alpine plus the 4 channel you plan on getting you will be less than 1200 watts, why the second battery?

Sell some of your marine batt and get you nice agm under the hood do the big 3 with quality 0g and you should be set.
