I upgraded the 4 factory speakers in my 2007 civic lx sedan to the Polk audio db650. I noticed that the sound is clearer now but there is not the biggest difference. I am probably getting no where the full potential performance since i'm not using an amp and using the factory 160 watt peak system (80 rms?). What do you recommend for an amplifier in the 100 dollar price range that will fit these stats of the polk db650
RMS power handling (watts) ?60
Frequency response (kHz) ?40Hz - 22kHz
Peak power handling (watts) ?180
Recommended amp wattage range0 - 199
Peak power range (watts) 150-249
What do you think of this amp for the speakers http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Jensen-4-Channel-Amplifier-JPA460/sem/rpsm/oid/119446/catOid/-13095/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
Will I notice a huge difference in sound quality once installing the appropriate amp. I am new to this but am I mistaken by saying that I am under performing the speakers by 3-4 times their potential. Crutchfield told me I need to give the speakers a week to warm up on mid levels before judging, is this true, only been a day. Also, will I be able to get relatively stronger bass once installing the amp.
Thanks in advance.
