Adding phonebook into DEH-P7900BT

I just recently purchased and installed a Pioneer DEH-P7900BT, with the main reason for buying this was for the blue tooth, and while my moto razr syncs with the HU just fine i am not able to transfer my phone book to the HU so i am wondering if any body else has had this problem and how they fixed it or if there is a way to program the phone book manually, the owners manual hasn't been any help and i don't like calling customer support

I had the Sony BT headunit and what I used to do is chosse a option on the headunit that's call something like recieved phone book or recieved data and from you're V3 you chosse send contact to "find bt device" and you send it make sure you pair at first.

any question please reply.

well i guess my phone lacks that option thanks to the craptacular service provider that is Verizon, so i think i'll have to hack the phone or switch to another provider

If you have the v3c you probably can flash back to firmware 2 but if you have the v3m, you can use the monster flash and flash your unit to the alltel firmware which will work on the verizon and give you bluetooth features (not just headset).

I'm in the same boat - my unit 9800BT will be here tomorrow and I'm going to try and update the phonebook using a laptop with bluetooth and upload from outlook (or outlook express).

I'll let you know what happens.

well it turns out that my v3c has the original GATW_01.0F.02 firmware but when ever i tell the HU to transfer the phone book my phone becomes disconnect and whenever i try to reconnect while the HU is still trying to transfer the phone book my phone tells me "service not supported" or some thing like that, so i don't know what to do

i finally got it to where i can program each number as a preset, but not being able to add my entire phone book is kind of annoying, also having a limit of ten presets sucks sucks

I read somewhere that if you make the connection between your phone and the hu, go in to the contacts on your phone, you should be able to push one address at a time - because i don't have the v3c, i can't try this...

Howards forum has a lot of info on it if you search them using 7900BT and 9800BT.

Hope this helps.

With my Kenwood bluetooth and my Razr V3 i had to send each contact individually by going into the menu then going to the address book then going to each contact and clicking the button with the 4 lines and going to the last option Share Address Book Entry then click select and then select Bluetooth and then select the device for each contact annoying but it worked.

Hope that helps,

Joe

well i found out that through verizon my v3c lacks the OPP blue tooth profile that is needed to send my phone book to the head unit witch means i can either get a new phone, switch to another provider(something i've wated to do since i joined verizon) like cingular and get another phone, or find a way to hack my phone and activate OPP

Verizon block all Object Push and Object Exchange (except on the Q phone, not sure if that one still works).

So unless you flash to the Alltel firmware, you won't be able to do the seem edit to activate the features.

Cingular, T-Mobile and Alltel do not limit the bluetooth profiles on any of their phones.

I too have this problem i have the same head unit same verizon motorazr and cannot transfer phone book. this really irratates me since the man reason i got this head unit is for the bluetooth.
