Adding another gun to my collection

Nice gun but I think it's overkill for something that is just going to be laying around as a defense weapon. The wife has an 870 synthetic under her side of the bed (I travel constantly for work and she is home alone a lot). It's a good reliable gun that I paid $250 for. I've got an 1100 that I use for hunter that I wouldn't trade for anything.
Oh, and pistol grips bring the ****. They look cool but are really hard to control.

I also plan on taking it to the range from time to time. It would be fun to go and shoot.

But I am also really big into guns. I like to collect them.

lol I know man. I was just messing around. I would not take any chances when it would come down to my life, or my families life. I would prolly run like four 000Buck, followed up by four #4s.

That would work, but #1 shot is a better choice as it has more stopping power. It doesnt really matter though, but this is a good read, along with everything else on firearms tac... that is if youre that into guns.

Guys I understand you want to feel better. But if you note...only ONE person has tried to argue other then from gut emotion. And after posting links to a non-biased stats - haven't heard back from him really.

Do whatever you guys want...and none of this is about tighter gun control. I agree on that point. All it is ...is about personal choice to not have a gun at home as it is safer.

YES you FEEL safer.... and you think you are.... its just not the case. Why is it everyone talks about the risk of an intruder....and that risk is SO low compared to shot by someone you know. THAT is why a gun in the house is so dangerous...not shot by an intruder...but someone you know. Them the facts folks, ignore them if you want.

so according to your "stats" im more likely to be injured by a gun because i have an unloaded weapon in my home and no ammo for it in my house. that makes sense.

Oh yea, I am into guns. I love guns. I am getting an AR15 next. They have a few of those at the same place I am getting the shotgun.

Would you give it a rest already. You dont buy yourself any firearms, and we'll do whatever we please. We wont convince you to get one, nor should you be trying to tell use to not get one.

Guns are like seat belts, most of the time you'll never need it, but if you do you'll be glad you had it. You have a far higher chance of getting in a car accident than you do getting shot by your own gun. Does that mean you shouldn't own a car?

Over 95 million ppl carried guns with them yesterday, wanna know what happend... nothing. Even more have weapons at home that dont carry, guess what... still nothing.

Ofcourse with #'s into the millions the stats as you would call them are going to show more incidents. However what those stats do not show you are the fact that most everyone with any sort of common sense teaches their children about guns & what NOT to do should they ever come across one. Ive taken people as young as 13 shooting with hammered into their heads the 1st rule of keep you finger off the trigger. Period.

Those homes with incidents are most likley (99% of the time anyway) homes were nobody took the time to teach their children anything. Thats when accidents happen.

Its like with driving man, driving is more dangerous then carrying a firearm. So why in the world would you ever consider putting a child in a car? I am getting it so I will be able to keep it in my truck.

Since I am constantly sent to places where drug deals happen left and right. I figure that I might have to have it.

There was already one guy that works for the same company I work with that was involved in a shootout.

Since I am not old enough to get a handgun, thats what it is going to be. lol

If your not old enough to carry a handgun I wouldn't suggest you carry that in your car as you arent old enough for a concealed weapons permit and in Florida CCW is a felony and automatic 10 years in prison if convicted since it is a crime with a gun.

It might be difference because it is a long gun instead of a handgun, and he isn't concealing it, it will just be in his truck. Whether he is 18 or under 18 might make a difference too.

I'm not saying that you are wrong, those are just some variables that might make a difference. I could be completely wrong though too.

Did you read my earlier post about this regarding FL law? It answers everything you are guessing abuot now. It on the page 3 post #36.

If the gun is out of plane view it is concealed. Florida law states to transport a gun it must be and in an area that is not freely accessable i.e trunk, glovebox, etc. and you are not alowed to carry it unconcealed period even with a ccw.
