Adding a cooling fan?

I want to know how exactly you add a cooling fan to my amplifier. I've been on Bcae1.com and read everything, but I need something that's not so complex in explinations. Do I just get a fan, and put the positive to the amps power wire (of course with a fuse) and ground the grounding wire?

^u didn't post a link.

But ya, generally just a relay. U can set it so the relay turns on ur amps and fans at the same time, or u can get a separate relay with a switch so u can turn on the fans whenever u want. Just really depends on how complicated u want to make it.

PS if u do it the way u stated the fan will always be on, 24/7. Thats why amps have the remote turn on input wire.

It's simple. Get a 30A SPST automotive relay. Then wire as follows (the numbers will be next to the plugs on the relay):

85: remote wire from your h/u

86: ground

30: 12v

87a: empty

87: outputs to accessories (fans, lights, amps, etc.)

The accessories wire to 87 will turn on when the h/u is turned on. You can add a toggle switch in line to anything you want to control on & off by an independent switch.

Thanks, I have a few of them relays lying around my house, when I get some more connectors and wire, I will do this. Since it's an ugly amp, should I just make a new cover too, or sand it and paint it which ever color I want, and mount the fans to the cover?

i have ran 3 fans off my remote line (along with the three amps) with out any problems...hook the hot to the rmt and ground it to the amp's ground. that easy.
