Active xover keeps popping fuses

So I don't really have a clue as to what is going on. Checked the power wire run and it's not stripped anywhere. And i'm positive of this because it's a really short run of power wire. My power and ground are both straight to the battery, so i'm sure it's not because of the ground. Any ideas as to why i'm getting a short?

Where is it mounted? Could it be possible that a screw used to mount it is touching a power wire under the carpet or something?

I know it's a long shot, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

nope, the wiring is not even under the carpet right now and it's still blowing fuses. I don't understand why the **** thing is pulling more current like that. I really do hope that it's not the unit itself.

if the ground is to the battery like you outlined in the original post, that's not the problem... hate to say it, but it sounds like a bad unit.

I'm running two batteries and the ground and power wires is off the back battery, perhaps that could somehow be the problem? The battery is ran in parallel btw.

Which X-over?

I was having the same issues with a Coustic XM-3 IIRC...I think the fuse was rated at .5 amps and I increased it to 1 amp to see what would happen...issues stopped //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Its worth a shot, though I am not promising anything...
