I have been looking at units like the ms8 and the RF 3sixty.2, but they say they are for oem integration. Do these units work well for aftermarket HU's?

I want a center channel for a better 2 seat car. Can anyone recommend a good crossover/dsp?

Ive never ran an active setup, so something with a auto tune would be nice.

Both those units will work fine using an aftermarket deck. No issues there. The ms8 is controllable using a remote unit while the RF needs a laptop iirc.

Budget....hmmm...i know these things are pricey, I like the idea of a 200$ mini dsp but Im not sure about self tuning for a beginner. I could see myself spending 500-1000.

Neo what you mean remote unit? I have a laptop so no problem there.

By remote unit, I mean there's a remote with display that connects to the MS-8 which can be used from either front seat for adjustments. Once calibration is complete, you can choose to disconnect the unit or find a way to integrate it into your dash, should you choose. From what I understand, self-tuning with the MS-8 is pretty easy and they use a binaural headset to take readings. As long as you have an understanding of crossover points, it should be easy.

Are there any other good options when it comes to auto tune?

Which would be the better unit between the 2 I listed? From my reading the ms8 seems to come out on top, any reason why?

My time spent with the MS-8 is short, but I got rid of an Alpine 8-channel processor which is tuned entirely manually to see what the MS-8 is like. It does so much more than just auto-tuning, but even if you just consider it for auto-tuning it does many more bands than a 1/3 octave graphic EQ. Everything points to the MS-8 experience getting much better for multiple seats with rear and/or side speakers and a center channel. I'll be running rear speakers for the first item in over a decade because of MS-8 and the Logic 7 signal steering.

ARC audio PS8 is about the best you can get. Its in that pricerange PM @mylows10 ;

JBL MS-8 implements a correct signal for center channel for sure when Logic 7 is enabled. Alpine H800 should work with center and rears too. What about the other processors? I haven't heard of RF processor or Arc support 5.1 sound.
