So after reading a bunch of threads and stuff i want to go active, My system consists of Soundqubed 2200 powering zv4 10", and Audioque (soundqubed) 4-120 for my mids and highs, ID XS65 set. In order to go active i need either of theses correct?

1. active HU

2. sound processor

3. cross over such as audio control 6xs?

i honestly don't want to buy a 80prs or one of those fancy HU because it just seems very complicated. the sound processor is just too expensive so that leaves me with active cross over. Pleas correct me if i am wrong. How can i go active?

HPF 20Hz-5KHz

LPF 50Hz-5KHz

yeah you can run active from the amp so no need for a crossover.
a processor will do wonders though for you.
it'll also do wonders to my bank account lol

so the cross overs that come with the componen set i don't need? i wire the tweeters and mids direct into the amp? or how will i go about that?

if you are going active, you don't need the passive crossovers that came with your speakers.

you will wire your left and right mid to channels 1&2 and the L/R Tweet to 3&4. Each speaker gets its own channel.

and from my HU i only use the the front stage RCAs correct? so only 1 set will be hooked up?

where exactly do i set the x over points?

if you are only using the amp to power the fronts then yes, only one set. then at the amp, "Y" the left side into Channel 1&3 and the right side into CH2&4

As for crossover points, you have to kind of mess with them until it sounds good to you. On my amps, I run the tweeters at about 4.5khz and the mids in the doors from 300ish hz to 4.5khz. But I have some 8s under my seats that play from 80-300hz, so you may want to set your mids to a little lower if you are missing some of the lower range.

yea i only have a front stage as my truck is a single cab, the actual crossover switch for chan 1&2 goes on HPF and 3&4 on LPF?

so i realized my HU has cross over points as well it has a hpf, lpf and other options on it. it is the Kenwood KDC-352U it has 6 2.5V pre outs. where should i set these? same as amp? or is using these going to cancel my amps ability to distinguish the frequencies?

Your mids you will use lp/bp which plays between the lpf and hpf. For tweets use hpf and set the hpf.

The rcas, you want the front left out to go to channel 1 & 3 and front right out to ch 2 & 4

You can use HU crossovers and amp crossovers together but they will try to overlap each other, and whichever has the steeper cutoff rate will take over. Using the amp's crossover is fine but you're pretty much guessing with those knobs and might take you forever to get right. If your HU has active capabilities, then it's best to just use that and set the amp to full range. A processor will be much more precise and easier to work with because you can change anything in a click and compare them on the fly. You will spend forever going back and forth trying to adjust the knobs but it can still be done.
