Active Setup

It is a little underpowered. I think it does 4x85 at 4 ohms, is that right. I think I may just pick up the Lanzar so I can match everything up. PM me with a price though I will give it some thought. Thanks.
$90shipped, missing a mounting peg though.
No, it's underated. Those ratings are 12v ratings, can expect upto 20% more output with 14.4v.

Yeah I will probably have a few questions about the **** thing after I read it. I am planning on using E-Iserv to help me out the PEQ and stuff I just have to wait for the Memory card reader that I ordered to come. It will be here wednesday. I will let you know how it goes, and how this active setup sounds. Thanks.
I've had problems with that stupid E-iserv. here's a link in an attempt to get help. http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/showthread.php?t=123761&highlight=8455. i just basically gave up because that e-iserv is crap. so i guess i have to do this by ear and eq it to my liking i guess.

CAnt any amp take 8v preouts?
I dont beleive so, If you look at the input sensitivity of the amp it says 200mv to 5V. So that means you can only adjust the gain up to allow for 5V RMS inputs. So if you send it 8V it will probably clip bad.

You may be right but I am just not sure. It seems like to me if you turn the gains all the way down it will be looking for a 5V input signal, and I will be sending it an 8V signal. Can anyone clear this up for us. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif Thanks

volume on the HU is exponentially based. thus half volume will be much less then full volume in terms of output voltage. 3/4th will be a lot less then full as well.

and yes, you can overdrive the inputs of an amp, not sure that 8V would really do that, more likely you'd just have clipping from too much gain. if you want to hear something ugly, overdrive certain Jfet input stages... it has this bizzar way of clipping in the wrong direction which basically means you have not just clipping, but modulation.

i wouldn't worry about that though. just turn the hu down a couple clicks and you should be fine.
