Whats up guys, I finally have my CD8455 and I plan on setting up an active front stage. It might take me a week just to read the **** manual, of 250 pages. Anyways what I was wondering is do passive crossovers bleed off any power from the amp?
Here is the situation, I have a set of Cl-62 component spakers (6.5") That came with the passive crossover. They say to have a 180W RMS power handling with a 100hz high pass on them. So my other question is can they still take the 180W even if the power does not go through their passive crossover.
Here is what I plan to do, I guess I will need a 4 channel amp 150 x 4. Using the HU I plan on putting a 100hz 24db LPF on the sub, 100hz 34db HPF on the mid, maybe a 2200 24db LPF on the mid, and a 2200 24db HPF on the tweeter.
So each speaker will be getting 150W, can they handle that. I am not to sure about any of the filters yet, I am still reading up, they are just their for example but please feel free to comment.
