Roger Waters' album "Amused to Death" has some really cool imaging, a lot of full range content with explosions, great dynamics, and other cool effects. It's a great album to listen to on a really nice 2.1 setup.

some well recorded stuff, and some of my favorites

alice in chains - unplugged

dream theater - the stuff on scenes from a memory is great (drums are recorded extremely well)

porcupine tree - all of it is well recorded

metallica - the older stuff

planet-x - the cd called moonbabies (really awesome recording, esp the drums)

the latest cd from Ayreon - the cd is called 01011001 - has a lot going on, lots of seperation and vocals coming from all over the place

pink floyd - the dark side of the moon, all the vocals are very strong, very focused and dead center
