I was thinking, maybe anything by Pink Floyd?
If you like Pink Floyd, you will like that Roger Waters album I mentioned as he was formerly of Pink Floyd if you're not familiar with him.

Pink Floyd's live recording titled "Delicate Sound of Thunder" is really well done and has some great songs on it. The sound isn't going to be like a CD but in the right setup, it can give a great live feel to the music. I love listening to it at home as it gives such a wide and open presence, similar to being at a live concert. Dark Side of the Moon is a good one too and the SACD version is ****ing awesome on a properly setup SACD room.

If you're into soundtracks, Apocalypto has some crazy tracks with creature/forest sounds, crazy intense/dynamic drum sections, and some well placed and creepy tribal chanting. It's also very delicate sounding and isn't great to listen to in an undeadened vehicle while moving. It's great for checking tonal accuracy, noise floor, and subtle details. It's very dynamic so places go from very soft faint sounds to very loud drums so be careful with your volume levels.

Some goodies I don't see listed

Eagles - Hotel California (Live) or pretty much anything by the Eagles

Deep Purple - Smoke on the Water

Metallica - One

Godsmack - Voodoo (only song so far to bring out rattles in my doors and I have no subs yet)

Sadly my brain decided to stop working after those 2, I'll add some if I can remember them.

Almost anything from them because most of the songs are live instruments.

For SQ stuff, I assume you are looking for a wide vareity of instruments in the music and no long *** bass lines right? Try some Prince. Early Prince though. When he was with the Revolution. Too many of his songs to list, but off the top I would say

Let's go Crazy

Erotic City

Computer Blue

Raspberry Beret.

Or maybe some Parliment & the Funkadelicks. May not get a lot of street cred, but It will sound good.
