Funky Pups pwn j00!!!

This dude up the street from me has a set of 12s that look just like that except it says Booquar or some brand like that. I traded him my Legacy 500 watt (max) amp for his oldschool. rf punch 250. (cuz the legacy has more power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wacky.gif.cf4a48f9e6dfe9504ffd2c946fd2f340.gif and a crossover) (I think the RF does 2 tho)

They are in some cheap *** box with horn tweets on the top.

I hooked it up for him. It had no volume at all. I think he just left the gain cranked all the way up. They sound like total crap. I still laugh when i see his go by. he thinks it cool

The funkypup joke is getting old and annoying. Every thread comparing woofers has a comment about it. Yes we all know that its the best sub out there. But my input:Some top of the line woofers (IMO):

SPL- RE MT(king), Adire Tumult, IA Death Penalty's, Digital Design 9500's, just to name a few.

SQ- Adire: Koda and Shiva, RE Re's, Alpines.

SQL- Adire Brahma, RE XXX, JL W7, all get loud sounding very good while doing it.

in your SQ column switch RE Re's to RE SE's... the Re's are entry level...

the SE's sound good...

I have been on this forum for about 6 months or so and I have no idea what the "Funky Pup" joke is about. Will someone let me in on all the fun? Thanks

The funky pup is this super crappy, super generic sub that was sold in 6-packs for outrageously low prices (like $129 for a 6-pack of 12" subs). Plus, on the sales page on nexxon.com there was a really funny "testimonial" that looked like it was written by a white snoop dog wannabe.... it was about a paragraph long but the most quoted line from that testimonial is "Funky Pups go BOOM! like so". Plus, look at the picture....pink surrounds //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif That's just funny in and of itself.

But, I have a pretty funny quote in my sig at Carsound:

It's funny because it's said by the guy that brought us the XBL^2, the Brahma and the Parthenon.

Well, one of the "top" subs would be the Velodyne servo controlled subwoofer. But, that doesn't mean there aren't 300 other subs out there that sound excellent. I could form a list, but it would be LONG. Honestly though, subbass is one of the least important aspects of sound quality.

Pfft....um, well, the Velodyne, JL W7, JL W6, Image Dynamics IDmax, Image Dynamics IDW, Phase Linear Aliante, Illusion Audio ND series, older OZ Audio subs, Focal Utopia subs, and a million other subs I know I'm forgetting. Really, you can make any quality sub sound pretty decent.
