Absolute best SQ sub for 300-400 watts??

I really want to stick with a one amp system (one set of comps and a sub) but need to know what are some good quality subs that will handle 300-400 watts and perform good to excellent.

I'm also very drawn to the Alpine PDX line of amps for style, quality and size. Either the 4.150 or PDX 5.

I know the IDQ 12 doesn't require a ton of power but not sure if it would work.

There is no best SQ for anything, it can't be had as SQ is completely subjective.

As for subs that have shown their merit the IDQ is a good one, as is the new SI Mag V4 or an old SI BM.

Oz ME plays incredibly accurate. INfinity kappa perfects sound great.

ID subs are very efficient so 300-400 watts will be plenty.

I don't know where this came from but you do not need to run a sub at it's RMS to make it loud and sound good. Most subs are efficient enough to run well below rated wattage.

I am currently running the image dynamics id10v3 off 300 watts rms. I am very impressed with the sub and how it sounds, it is in a .7 cubic foot sealed enclosure. This sub is the level below the image dynamics idq's.

The old Ascendant Audio Atlas was good stuff. I am sure the new one is even better no xbl though... So its arguable.

It's all personal preference. Some people prefer conventional motor technologies and some perfer the other low distortion designs... Try and find some people near you to hear some different subs, TC9's - Mags - old Avalanche. IDQ's and IDmax's... Just because you only have 400 watts doesn't mean you can't use it on those subs, they are all efficient.
