I heard that Orion's new amps do not sound as good as the amps they made during the mid to late 80's is this true?

What do you mean by 'sound as good'?

I doubt you'd be able to tell a difference in actual 'sound quality' if you plugged both amps (set flat) in one after another.

i wanted to know the same thing. I heard the orion was bought out by another company. I wanted to know if they still sell quality products. I am thinking about buying the orion 2500d amp to power three 12'' kicker L7. Will this do it fine? How many ohms should each sub be? should i get the 2 or 4 ohm subs?

3 x DVC 2ohm = 1.34ohm or 3ohm

3 x DVC 4ohm = 2.67ohm

The 2500D should work well with the dual 2's.

New / current orions have not given me any problems. I've messed with a few from the 600d to the 2500d over the past (2) years.

The old HCCA amp's are still pimp.

Either way, they're reliable and will do what you want.
