? about alternator fusing

I'm running a DLS RA40 with 50 amp fuses and a Cadence ZRS 1502 80 amp fuses. I've done the big 3with kun 0 ga. and have a 120 amp fuse inline from the alternator.I plan to replace the alternator soon but not right now with a 165 amp. My ? is should I run a larger fuse from the alternator for right now ? I am replacing the inline fuse to the amps with a 130 amp fuse then split from a dis. block fused for each amp. And if so would it hurt anything if I used a 200 amp fuse from the alternator?

overkill on your fuses never hurts anything. you could have a 500 watt **** amp and run a 300 amp inline fuse and be fine. and if its too small, it will just simply blow.

If you go too big, the fuse will not do anything and the wire will melt and catch fire, fyi
