A/V Head Unit Help

Hey this is my first post, and off the bat let me say I am no audio genius nor am I close. I'm sure you guys can answer any questions I have. I would appreciate all answers

So that said, I am in the market for a Audio/Video head unit, that has Ipod control, mp3,cds, and all that good stuff. Someone on my car forums (SRTForums.com) was selling a Pioneer AVH 57000 I believe for 500$. It has the ipod adapter already, and the switch so you can watch while on the road. Anyways I was wondering if you guys could point me in the direction of a great AV unit for around that price, or you experience with these units. I would appreciate maybe a good place to buy the item or if you have any tips or anything else.

Although I do not have much Pioneer experience, I know that this is a good entry level indash unit. It has the 6.5" touch screen and DVD, CD, CD with MP3/WMA Player. It also has 3 pre-outs, detachable face and remote. It has moderate power and a basic EQ but all in all is a good buy for the entry level unit with a low price. $500 seems a little high and I think they go cheaper on ebay or maybe even on certain sites? Again im not too familiar with the pioneer units. Hope this helps a little!

What sites give some good pricing on A/V units, if you don't mind me asking. It looked to me to be decent, but I'm just not sure. The unit most certainly doesn't have to be a pioneer, what would you recommend for a unit?

Well the problem is the budget. If you really only want to spend $500 max then this would be the unit for you. Their are lots of good sites with good pricing. So do a search on(good sites)here on the forum and you will find some good ones. Crutchfield has good pricing and a good selection. Their are lots of choices but they go up in price from here. There are alpines,clarion,eclipse,panasonic,kenwood and so many more. There are entry model all the way to compition. You have a big decision to make on how much money you really want to spend and what your exactly looking for as far as features. With this info you will get more response and help! I don't think 500 is the max, I just don't know if I want to be going over a grand. I don't need a competition model, just a nice quality head unit. Features, I want full IPod control, plays all dvds, and cds, mp3s, and anything of the sort. Can add on Navi later, as well as possible back up camera. Touch screen. Just nice features a good system has I guess.

Well I would try looking at some of the alpine models such as the IVA-D310 or the IVA-W205 or maybe some of the eclipse or clarion models or even some of the other pioneer models. Just check their home websites and price compare online. I have had several alpine models such as the IVA-300 and CVA-1004 and have tried clarion and panasonic and now run a Eclipse AVN-7000 (cd/dvd/nav/20gbHD) that cost close to $2000 new with the BEC-105 (back-up cam). ITs the best unit I have ever owned by far. Has everything you could ever want. HD built in, FULL nav--never need to buy disks, touch screen, multi-zone and an awsome EQ. I have had several units and now am happy. You will just have to do your homework and go with what meets your needs. Most of the unit that come out now do everything you need yours too do, especially since its just really the basic stuff. Good Luck!

hey dude im selling 2 screens.

Jensen VM 9312. If you dont have a bangin system you wont need the pre-amp voltage and this is dope screen if thats the case. everything is touch, all the ipod controls are done on the screen so u can control it by touch or with the remote, dvd, mp3 everything. im selling it for $350 cuz its preeeetty new. i had it in my truck for like a day, made sure it was cool and worked and now its in the original box.

i also have a pioneer AVH-P7500DVD. 7" touch, dvd, mp3, ipod eveything. you can control ur ipod on this screen also by touch or with the remote...i like the ipod features better on the jensen but this screen is just dope as it is. comes with the brain and all ipod cables. if you do have a knockin system then ur gunna wanna go with something like this that puts out over 5 volts to ur amp to get efficient power out of your amp and sub. But this screen is going for $750. if you're interested let me know!
