But if I have 250 to buy an amp that means I have to spend 1/3 on shipping and a fee. Plus just in the time I have been here a couple long timers have been caught scamming, so it is not just noobs that you should worry about. As times continue to get worse we will see more people resorting to these measures,that's the risk you take.

This would work for questionable deals. If you feel comfortable with the person you are dealing with, then by all means go ahead with the deal. But if you feel uncomfortable with a deal, this is when the third party shipper would be nice to have. So you have $250 to spend. Would you rather come up with another $80 for peace of mind, or take the risk of losing it all?

I just don't see a scammer wanting to put a third party in the mix. The scammer would just want to walk away from the deal.

if some con-artist is intent on coming out of a deal on top, they will try to concoct a way to do so regardless of the parties involved. imo, with something like this, you need to examine all facets in which things can sour.

for example (and purely speculative); if 2 people agree to send their items to a trusted 3rd party for q/c inspection, and one individual knowingly sends a d.o.a. item intended to defraud the shipping provider, the other party is out of pocket for the inspection and the fraud gets an insurance payout to cover his grift and profit a little,.. lets not forget return shipping if so,... quite a bit of red tape to consider.

like i said, it can work, just gotta really think it all through.

Why not just use common sense? 2012 member with 1 post vs 2005 member thats been around. If your a reputable member make them ship first if they have no references. Its that easy. If they dont abide, move on.

Could work. I mean I don't have any feedback on here but the only way I'd ship first is if the other party has a few good feedbacks. All in all it sounds like more of a hassle.
