A strange thing happened to my system....

I had been having car engine and vibration noise coming through my speakers, so I went to an audo shop, purchased a filter and voila it was gone. Eventually though another problem arose: Where the RCA cables plug into the amp...it appeared there was a loose connection..had to wiggle the wires in certain directions to get the subs to cut on at all.

Well I took apart the amp completely and everything was fine inside...put amp back in car, but hooked up grd and power wrong to amp...blew my fuses(doh!)...replaced all them, and amp was back to working after a trip or 2 to radioshacks for fuses. I bought RCA exentions with bigger connectors in case that was the problem, but that didnt work. So I decided to deal with the noise from the engine and hook up the RCA's directly to the amp like before and speakers cut on fine and it works perfectly....strange indeed.

Now I have a bass control in the glove compartment that I use to control amp gain....it doesnt work anymore? Do those things have fuses in them? I just use the regular gain on amp now. Another thing is that the system seems to sound better than ever now, and road noise isnt as bad as it used to be, but some things have me confused as to why the bass control switch is out, and the system sounds so much better.
