Okay after break in, some tuning, and EQ work I have heard just about every genre played through this subwoofer.*The enclosure plays a major part in my results* My mids are capable down to 65, so that was the average crossover.
Classical: The low rumbles are all there, the large drums are pronounced but the 50-65 range needed a slight pick up to level match the 30-50.
Rock: The bass drum was there and meshed well with my mids, it handled fast tempos and double bass drum well for something of its class.
Jazz, Blues: Played everything it was supposed to, but wasn't completely true to the recording with all instruments. Not top of my list for SQ.
Hip-Hop, Rap: Played all artificial frequencies with authority and solid ability. Handled itself with prowess 20-35. Did not test below.
Conclusion: Overall good driver. Great for the money. Has impressive low frequency ability. Has the potential to be used for more than "BOOM, BOOM" and did okay or better on all genres of music.
Low frequency ability: 9/10 (applicable to test enclosure)
Upper end extension: 5/10 (applicable to test enclosure)
True bass reproduction: 6/10 (applicable to test enclosure)
Output: 8/10 (applicable to test enclosure)
I'd classify it as a budget-friendly solution to many people's system wants. My local buddies were all impressed, as was I. Fits in its price-bracket well and is very competitive for its class.
