BUT HOW DO I DRILL THE HOLES WITHOUT TAKING THE DOOR OFF!!!
that is the simplest answer, but I don't think the door opens wide enough for a drill.

on the pass side of the ranger, the ECU is right behind the kick panel...... can't drill through that

yeah but, when faced with my situation I'd like to see anyone take the time to weigh the pros and cons of several actions.

the entire incedent took less than 3 secs from start to finish. although I didn't get hurt, my truck is severely F'd up.

Yep.. I'm gonna have to do that on my girls civic. I may try some fishing line or something first but I doublt I'll be able to get it through with the weird shape of the rubber boot.

look at it this way....at least you didnt go through the hassle of taking the fender off to run some wires and then wrecked it.......
