How do you get a speaker wire from inside the car to the door when there isn't a boot that connects the two.

I have a 1992 ranger, and want to send an amped signal to my doors. the problem is that the factory boot goes up into the fender and not directly into the door like on every other car I've seen.

I suppose I could just use a drill, but how do you protect the wire/ get a drill in there w/o removing the doors?

pics upon request / sometime tommorrow!!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I agree, pics are in order.

check back tommorrow.

what do you mean "follow the factory wires"?

If you mean, disconnect the factory ones inside the car, I would really like to avoid this due to putting it back if/when I sell the car. and, Im lazy and dont want to go hunting under my dash.

plus, if you haven't seen/heard about my previous installs, they are full of stupid mistakes (while I learn from them). They are just things that can go wrong and always do for me.

^ what Im getting at is, when you say splice amp wire with factory wire, I say OK. go try and find out I spliced amp wire with fuel pump feed or something equally stupid...... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I was looking at some kick panels that would completely eleviate this problem, however they are 150 bones, and I am jobless......

The Hardway is to find a boot from another vehicle that will work. Once you have the boot then you will have to cut the door and body area and install the new found boot.

This is a major PITA as usaully you have to pull the door off to do this. Not to mention the darn cutting and having the right tools to do the job properly. Air Tools FTW.

This way ^^^ will really piss you off.

Yep.. I'm gonna have to do that on my girls civic. I may try some fishing line or something first but I doublt I'll be able to get it through with the weird shape of the rubber boot.

did it on my civic with a wire hanger

Ya? What year civic? I might just have to give it a shot //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif.

I hate how the freaking mids are secured to the door panel itself on my girls '96.
