A question about ethics???

I need some help on this please. Say you were to sell someone a product and you told them about the product using information you thought you knew. When the person that bought the item from you recieved in the mail they found out the inforamtion you gave them (the reason they bought the product) was completly wrong.

What would you do if you were the seller and provided information that was wrong?

You should apologize for your mistake, and take it from there.

who knows, maybe they'll be ok w/it and go on, or they may want a refund. Either way you should make it right.

i would try to apologize and then offer money back but lean more towards making it right than completely reversing it. But if the buyer did want a refund, def. give it to him and to each his own on the shipping. [i said him, but it's just what came out, i'm not a sexist]

depends how off the info was. Why didnt they research first? One thing ive learned is not to take other peoples word for it.

The info was this the seller said the product would push 500 x 2 rms for the subs. Well in reality they would only push 80 -120 rms.

They said they jumped on the deal beacuse they thought It was a great deal.

And then said if you were to go into bestbuy and buy something like this that the sales associate without doing your research you could return if the product was not as specifed by the sales person.

that info is pretty off, but still, all they had to do was copy and paste the product into google, if it was a good bit of cash (which im assuming it is since its an amp) then they should have done some research. Although its obvious the seller should do something about it (im assuming you are the seller? did this happen on ebay?) If it was an ebay thing, i would go ahead and give a refund minus PP fees and tell them to pay to ship it back just to keep my rank up. But i guess it really comes down to what the seller feels.

It still falls under false advertising, research or not. Seller should refund.

Well seens how Dbman150 busted in here hes the seller that sent me this product.

I was trying to keep names out of it but he decided to enter.

I bought this amp and he told me the specs would be much higher then they really are.

I have asked for a refund were I would pay shipping but he wont budge as he claims I should be more careful.

My thought is If I jumped on a deal as he [said it would be 2 x 500 rms it would be great and was giving me a deal.

I purchased it recived it in the mail and it was not what he had told me.

We have talked and he will not budge like I said I wanted to keep names out and just get opinions and I was hoping to email this to him with your thoughts on it.

Again all I am asking for is a refund. I will pay shipping back and we can call it good. Nothing huge just fix the mistake you made.
