a ported type-r?

ive got a type-r 12 in a sealed box right now but i wanna build a ported box to throw it in every once n' a while. ive heard that type-r's don't perform well ported, first off is this true? if not then awsome, id only be givin it 300 watts so i don't think id break down or nething. i hvn't heard of many people porting these subs but if neone has a good tuning freq. or size id appretiate ne help. thnx

really because i have a friend with 2 12 type r's and got 3 db's out of porting his box for them

hmm alright ill have to try this. does anyone out there have any idea what size box would work well? and do ya think id have to worry bout sendin it the 300 watts since its ported?

ive got an xterra so my trunk is pretty big, 36"x47"x35", so i don't think space will be much of a problem. i listen to mostly hip-hop with some jazz and funk thrown in.

i was playin round with winisd and came up with 2 ft^3 tuned to 35 hz. dunno if this will work well or not. is it better to tune ur box high or low? and is 2 cubes enough space?
