Did you make sure to break in your coils first?

yes, we pluged them into the outlet for several bursts for 2 seconds each until the coils turned brown and the glue bubbled a tad bit

As I mentioned on ROE, I hope it didn't raise Fs too much by adding it.

so dual 2 is what makes it custom? Should have mentioned this as the IB3 is a pretty new line.

thank you, its cool people like you that i continue to post my "stupid" threads. yes the build has been done for a couple of months and it sounds really good. i expect that it will be just how i want it with this new coil option.

Maybe I missed something but are you talking about adding the paint??? doesn't more weight lower FS. And perhaps I missed something and you are talking about something totally different. And honestly I doubt a thin layer of paint would make much difference on the playability of the sub past t/s . I guess I could be wrong but I highly doubt a thin layer of paint weighs enough to have a major effect. ::shrugs::

you are exactly correct. Since so many people made smart comments about changing the thiele small params, I made smart comments about how they changed LOL

Painting the cone shouldn't make any noticeable difference in performance. Im not sure painting the cone with gloss black was a great idea tho, flat black would have probably looked better imho.
