A new alternator or a trunk battery

Thanks guys. In my next car I will get a much bigger alternator, but for now, I feel that the 35 extra amps should do me good, especially for $150. I contacted all the major alternator companies and they want $400. Dont get me wrong, you gotta pay for quality, but that is more than I want to spend now. I dont feel I am gonna get 100% efficiency from the upgrade, but it should help my electrical system.

Just take it easy with the gain. If after setting it properly your getting bad voltage drops you should back it down a little. You can easily fry an amplifier from having too low of an input voltage, not to mention burning up your alternator.

Alright, thanks. How much does a voltage meter cost? Any idea?

Yeah like $5. Those are the cheapies. They go all the way up to several hundred dollars but you don't need an expensive one. Any of the cheap ones you find at Walmart (or pretty much any store) will do.
