A little HT help

Well ok im about to start my HT project. I already have my subwoofer Sub enclosure and subwoofer amp. I want a 5.1 system. I have no problem with building my own cabinets. Can someone give me some recomendations for what else I need. Budget is around 400 dollars. but it would be nice to keep it under 300.

Ok now im a total noob when it comes to home audio. Now I know that I need a reciever, but how does the reciever work with the plate amp. So basically what kind of reciever do I need???

you need a 5.1 reciever and they usually have a output to a subwoofer.

whats your budget for a reciever? decent ones are around 250-300 new.

My question is, is a reciever an amp for the surround speakers? I might try to find a used one on ebay cause I really want to keep it under 200 for a reciever

sure will, its going to be a little while though, probably mid march before all of this is done. and does any one else have any other suggestions
