A good SQL sub

Allright I can't make my mind up.. I want a good sounding sub but also has that high pl.. My friend has a bravox edx and I really wanna out do him.. My choices so far have been RE XXX,DD 9512, tc 5200, solo x, and rd heavyweight.. I dnt wanna spend over $500 on one sub really bc I can get a brand new bravox for that but I just wantin yalls opinions.. Thanks in advance.. TY

If you plan on buying a new sub, you can scratch the XXX, DD 9500 and TC off your list immediately.

The new TC LMS 5400 only comes in an 18" model that I'm aware of, the DD pricing is obscene if want to add their "options" and the 12" XXX is $550 at the cheapest (and that's fron Sonic, they're notorious for being "out of stock").

That leaves the RD and Solo X. I have no idea what the RD costs, and the Solo X is hardly an "SQL" sub.

what about a Xcon 15? great sounding woofer that gets **** loud.. give her a clean 2000 RMS and im sure it will sound better and get louder in the right box.

I'm for both the BTL and the lvl 4 XL. Definite SQL subs. You can try the HDC, not much SQ but bleh, it'll get loud. I'm liking what I see about these SSA subs.

I don't think we can really call it a lvl 4 xl now. It doesn't share anything with the lvl 4, except cone and surround. It is more like a sm 5....lol. It has the lvl 5 softparts, and a mini 5 motor, which is way bigger than the lvl 4 motor.
