A gal in need of advice to replace factory system

I always get a kick out of it when a new person to car audio wants

to step up there game and add in a system to the vehicle and figures its

only a few hundred bucks.......Unless you DIY your system which I do not suggest

your going to spend upwards of 1200-2000 to get something worth listening too in that ride

and I tell that to anyone....(speakers,300,1-Sub 250+,box 150+Amps 500,Radio 350+,Wire 100,Install Geek 350+,SAT Radio100+)

I suggest you check out some local shops and get one or two proposals

Some shops are great and really helpful and honest and some well, some really ****

and want to push off there old stock or brands they are slow selling on you so be careful

I would avoid big shops lie Best Buy but more look towards Car Audio specialty places with a long history and

a clean BBB record........Make sure what they are selling you is the latest and greatest (2010/2011 products)

Thanks for all of the advice.

Think I'm just going to add a sub and an amp for now, see how I like that and then maybe do more later.

Is it possible to have my factory amp tuned ('don't know correct terminology') to have my little 8" subs under the seats play mid-bass ('again terminology') and let my new sub/amp handle the real deal bass? Or should I just leave the interior alone for now?

I actually have a sub box from a few years back with opening for 2 x 10" subs. Maybe I can re-use that.

it is possible, but you should replace all your speakers first. and get a nice amp. New speakers will give you plenty of midbass. Then later you can add a sub and amp. If you plan on keeping the factory deck, your going to need a processor to extend your frequency range. Look on that Audio Control website I linked. They specialize in processing sound. Even if you just added the processor and a four channel amp for now, you will notice a hell of a difference immediately.
