A few suggestions please

I get confused reading so many different posts and options, so I'll list my set-up and ask for your input.

I have 2 Pioneer subs (TS-SW1201S2) 2 ohm, 1500 peak, 400 RMS, single voice coil. I'm looking for an amp to power these.

I'm not sure what size (Watts) or type (mono, class D etc) to look for. ie: If both subs are combined at 800 RMS, do I look for an amp that outputs 800 watts at 2 ohms?

What if the amp is rated at 1600 watts at 4 ohms, is that close to the same thing? Thanks for your suggestions.

Meanwhile, I'll keep reading on here and try to understand all this foreign language. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

your on the right track for the most part two 2ohm subs in parallel would give you a 1 ohm load and many options on an amp to push it. 800-1200 should do good you just have to shop around for a mono amp stable at 1ohm.

So to get one ohm from my subs, I would wire both + terms. together and both - terms. together, then from the amp just connect the + to the combined + on the subs and vice versa? I was looking at the Rockford T1000-1bd.
