99 accord speaker depth question

i bought some 6 1/2" dayton ref's off a guy on here, and i just realized that they are MASSIVE. aka 3" mounting depth! i haven't really dealt with speakers in a while, let alone checking for depth... does anyone know if these will fit? or can i build a 3/4" baffle and fit them?

I dont believe it is 3" deep.. You will have a problem with it hitting the window when rolling all the way down. The wooden ring may be a problem as well since the door has a little ring that fits right over the speaker. If you cut the outlined ring off the door it'll give you some room to work with.

i have a 6th gen accord and i barely fit a driver that is 73mm deep which is 3.2mm short of 3 inches which is the depth of the daytons. i'm sure if you build a 3/4 mdf baffle and add some modeling clay on top you can possibly fit them. or maybe use 1" mdf.

you could also have problems with the speaker hitting the door panel if you space it out as well. i barely fit my re comps in the doors of my 02 accord. but it fits perfectly now with 3/4" wood baffles. =)

I believe you can fit them w/ 3/4 baffle. You can search at v6p.net i believe i remember reading it was possible.
