9887 Troubleshooting

Alright my iPod touch worked fine up until yesterday. Today the 9887 face plate says its searching for an iPod, but never finds it.

Ive cleaned the KCE 422i iPod plugin, Ive cleaned the Scosche Passport, Ive cleaned out the inside of the iPod port.

Ive tried with the iPod directly connected to the HU with the iPod cord and with the Scosche Passport between them.

The iPod charges through the HU.

The iPod charges through a iPod cord, transfers music, plays music through the 3.5MM jack and through the built in speaker.

The 9887 plays CD's and radio stations perfectly with no issue with clarity.

My guess is the iPod cord?

I have this same issue with my ipod classic 6th gen. I have a super old ipod, which the HU still recognizes, so I don't think my issue is the cable. Everything else is the same as you described, though.
