So,how do hell do I swap speakers,we have a blown one in one of my company van and I dont see a screw anywhere to remove the dang crappy speaker
they must be mounted underneath - HoweverWelcome to older vehicles my brother //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif Most cars used to have them mounted in the dash like that. It's a pain to get to them. In allot of the older vehicles, they had to be removed from underneath. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ha,71 dart.... I used to have a 73 Duster - what a POS:laugh:You sound like me 20 years ago //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I did that exact thing with a jig saw in a 71' dodge dart I had. Had some oddball bastage in the middle of the dash, ended up being a 8" midbass by the time I was done //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
The dashpad comes off in one solid piece. There will be several screws in the underside of the leading edge (closest to you when inside the van) of the dashpad. Probably a couple in the sides (facing the doors when they're closed) After removing all the relevant screws the pad should slide forward and off (after you fight it around the steering wheel) You can then access the speakers. So,how do hell do I swap speakers,we have a blown one in one of my company van and I dont see a screw anywhere to remove the dang crappy speaker
HA,i removed the dashpad yesterday to find 2 4x6 delco speakers, the reason for the removal was one was not working-the harness was not connected to the speaker -it was a PITA but its fixedThe dashpad comes off in one solid piece.
