95 Camry: New speakers with stock grills?

I'm going to be upgrading the sound system on my wife's '95 Camry. I'd like to keep things looking stock as much as possible, both for theft deterence and to allow me to pull the equipment (or have the option to) if we sell the car.

So, with this in mind, here's the question. It's been easy enough to get a list of speakers that "fit", but it's unclear as to whether they will fit in the door (for instance) with the original grill in place (the grill on the door is molded, and doesn't look like it attaches to the speaker itself). The rear deck is another issue. I'll have to take a closer look to see if the grills are part of the speaker, or just cover the area. So, can I do this, or am I being unrealistic?

Thanks,

--Mike

I checked the rear speakers and the grills do not look like they're attached. Now I need to figure out to remove the covers without breaking something.

Thanks again,

--Mike

i have a 95 camry and you will have to remove the door panels and rear deck to replace the speakers. the doors will hold most 6.5's with out any problem. just remove all the screws, light on the bottom coner, and the plastic peice behind the door handle, and the triangle peice at the front of the door. the door should then lift up and u can see what you are dealing with. neither speaker in front or back has the grill attached to the speaker.

for the rear deck. remove the bottom seat by pulling up on the front of it. there are two clips holding it down. it should slide out after that. NEXT unbolt the side cushions (next to the up right seat back) NEXT fold down the seats and take off the two black plastic panels next to the oval opening that goes into the trunk. NEXT remove the two screws above the center of the ovel opening. the deck shouls now slide out. you may have to wiggle it a bit to release the clips that snap in the back by the rear window, but at this piont you will ba able to see any thing stopping it from comming out

one note: the 6*9's in the back are bolted down by 3 (yes 3 in a triangle) bolts. you will need to drill new holes when you put in new speakers.

hope this helps
