I recently got an 880. Installed everything. Interior speakers sound good. So I put one of my temp systems in untill my other stuff arrives. All wires hooked up from a previous install, all wires are correct. Secure gounds etc.. But I'm not getting hardly any bass. With a direct swap from my Alpine 9856.. the 880 doesn't seem to be right. I had a 1/1000 JL and a 12W7 on the 9856.. pounded. I put the 880 in.. and my 6.5's carry more bass than the W7. I've tried messing with all the settings, but I just can't get it to give bass. It'll have some bass.. but nothing like it should be. And it sounds like *** on what little bass it does have. Am I just missing a setting? Anyone else have this same problem?

No - Coils are wired correct. I did a direct swap with Headunits. So nothing has changed. I've tried the Loud and BBE. Same result. Little bass.. but 6.5's overpower the Sub.

Ok, you did a direct swap. Did you tweak the EQ at all?? Your midbass drivers will seem louder if you have the EQ set to flat. Most systems I've ever listened to the one frequency band that is ALWAYS turned down on the EQ is the midbass frequencies. Usually around 150 hz. With midbass response too loud it will in fact drown out your sub. You can't just do a "direct swap" with ANY head unit and expect it to sound right. Tweak it and live with it.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I tweeaked it for over 3 hours. Played with every setting possible. I've been reading and alot of 880's have problems with the RCA's. This one is getting sent back for another..

Wow, I've never heard of ANY 880s having problems with the RCAs. Some of the '05 860s had problems with the RCAs but not the 880.

Are you sure you have the gains set right?

I've put 3 different systems on this HU. All have the same problem. Little to no bass output. Switch the HU out.. and the systems act normal. I've tried all sets of RCA's in the back, all the same. I've read through the entire manuel. I've troubleshooted with people who own 880's. One said he has a simliar problem.. he sent it back and it was bad RCA outputs. Its the only thing I can think off.

Are you using pro mode or standard mode??

STD mode. Which I assume is, standard?
Yes, it is and that means the front and rear pairs of RCAs should be outputting full range unless you have the hi-pass and low-pass on. What do you have your low pass set to?? If you have your hipass set too low and you low pass set too high your midbass will be handling too much lower bass and of course drown out your subs.

Unsure of the settings.. but even with what you said. I dont see how stock 6.5's could drown out 2 Type R's off a 2500D, or a 12W7 off a 1/1000, or two W6's off a 1/1000. I've installed all 3 of those systems on this HU. Same result, little to no-bass.
