86 toyota cressida head unit wiring HELP ASAP

hey guys i recently got a 1986 toyota cressida and i am having a problem with wiring up the head unit which is a jvc kd-r540 into the car. When i follow the directions on modified life and when it does work the rear speakers are really quite and when i turn it up the head unit goes into a miswiring mode and i have went over the wires multiple times and cant find anything that im doing wrong. there is a factory amp im the truck of the car for the rear speakers i believe and there is nothing on modified life that suggests that it is getting turn on with the new head unit wired in. if anyone has a wiring diagram of the 3 plugs that go into the original stereo would be muchly appreciated.
