$800-$1000CAD To Spend. Whole System Needed. **LOOK INSIDE**

Thanks for the PMs, they will all be returned when the equipment is actually being bought.

"Recently bought this amp for 2 12" type r's - in slot ported box tuned to 32Hz. Unfortunatly i have the dual 2-ohm Type-R so I'm only getting 800 wrms out of this amp as opposed to 1200 wrms @ 1 ohm. Amp has 120A Fuse (2x60A) there is a subsonic filter is a must for any amp! You wont be dissapointed with this amp."

I read this on the mono amp that was provided a long ago..Gotta watch out for this Ohm-business as it turns out to be quite tricky LOLL

Two more questions 1. what is this Hz-tuning stuff? What are boxes usually tuned to? and how do you know what tunage you need for your woofers? Does it sound better when its more Hz, or less?

2. And what kind of Digital Capacitor would I need? The Digital and regular costs about the same so why not go with the digital, would I need 1.5,2,2.5 for my setup? How will this device contribute to the system?

Ok you got $1G to play with which isn't a whole lot if you want new.

I would get a decent Alpine HU, PPI A600.2 (150w x 2), another A600.2 for the sub (600w x 1 @ 4 ohms) $200HU, $400ish for amps. hmm doesn't leave much leftover for speakers and subs, box, and wiring.

BTW My amps are about 12 years old and still run top notch. Old school PPI Art series.

I think the only way is score some excellent used deals, flea market brands (pos), or save up.

Alright I got 2 more questions up there at the top. Otherwise, I understand everything I need about this sound system and I know what I want to buy except the car speakers as im still trying to aim for the 300W ones for whatever reason as my buddy told me they would sound better back in the day, and this whole amp-business. Otherwise im pretty well off with the woofers I want to get, the headunit wont be a problem, and the box can be perfectly constructed as a side project after my question above is answered.

Thanks //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif:)

there arent many speakers that have a 300rms rating. If its 300 max disregard that rating, its complete bullshit meant to confuse noobs into thinking stuff is better than it really is.

I meant 300Watts or more, example: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14550
My friend told me the higher the W, the better they are..and ive been believing it since:D
Not necessarily, there are a lot of speakers out there that sound phenomenal on less than a hundred watts, but most tend to run at around 150 generally speaking.

That is also peak power rating, which basically means nothing, and is simply for marketing purposes.

What do I look for in speakers? What digits should I be spotting when buying the perfect speakers that sound good/ deliver great quality sound so that I can get the speaker-dilemma out of the way, and start learning more about the amps?

As I made earlier, that you kindly said was a complete waste of time to look at, would be closer to your best bet as far as new equipment. Next time you ask for help and people actually give you help, and that person knows what they are talking about, listen to them. Don't listen to your stupid friend. The system I showed you is within your range of $800-$1000 CAD, as $1000 CAD = $985 USD. If you want to listen to your friend about car audio, since he obviously knows a whole lot, don't come here and ask for help. I didn't like the TX6.5 speakers either, which is why I said I would have rather chose the Phoenix Gold RSDs, which are extremely well known for being one of the best budget component systems available. Autotek, and MB Quart are very well known brands in the car audio world. Yes, they are not the best available, especially the newer models, but you don't have a great budget to work with.

I want the best sound system for the budget I have..
Look into Sony, Pyle, Legacy, Pyramid...

You know, the well known brands... Besides, Sony makes a 1300Watt sub, so that has to be kick ***, doesn't it?

Those Phoenix Gold speakers are made by Morel and well worth every single penny.

Looking for SQ and your checking POS Pioneer 6x9. tsk tsk tsk 80wrms btw. I bet my ppi a300.2 @ 75w would kill those.

There's a lot of people here with good knowledge. Your friend doesn't have a clue about SQ in car audio.

I wouldent bash those Pioneers. They are 6x9s but the Revs are great speakers.

and for the OP

the numbers you want to look at are RMS ratings. peak power means nothing. like they have said. it is a marketing ploy. your important numbers are:

1. RMS power - measured in watts

what the speaker can handle continousley over time

peak power is an estimate of what the speaker can handle in an intense

musical burst

2. Impeadence - measured in ohms

3. maybe frequency response - ex 22-32000hz

more important when you get to tuneing and get better with your hardware

Im trying to build my first sound system from a budget of $800-1000CAD. I was going to buy a pre-made enclosure, but I read that I should make my own which will also be a fun project, and I could save around $100.
I need a headunit, 2 subwoofers, 4 speakers, 2 amps (one for the speakers, and one for the woofers), and all the wiring needed. All this has to be bought for $800-1000CAD.

Im trying to go for sound quality, but yet with a nice bang when necessary. I want to be able to hear clean vocals, and hear a clear beat, but I want it to have a LOUD bang when I want it.

So far, Ive been looking at the Type Rs (http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=14955)...I was told theyre a good starting woofer as I was trying to get some Kickers that had 1200W before, and was told these are better on a budget.

I need to find some speakers (four of them) that are atleast 300W and will deliver some quality sound. I need a headunit that will run USB, and look nice in person/ and in the dark. And the thing I have trouble picking out the most are the amps as I dont know how they power speakers/woofers yet and what power outputs I should be looking for.

I want the best sound system for the budget I have..I dont want some junk in the trunk..I want it to impress people when they hear it, but I also dont want to spend crazy amounts. I want the system to deliver clear vocals and beats, and have insane bass when setup that way:cool://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif:D

Thanks, all help is appreciated.

you need/should research and search around. there has been atleast a kabillion threads of this nature in your range, asking more or less the same questions. also impressing people shouldnt be a focal point of your system, also add in money for the big 3 also...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Big 3 as in 3 12s? And im from Toronto as you can tell by my username:cool:

Is car audio the same as computer hardware? Does it go down in price dramatically over the period of a month for example? If I was to buy this system with those Type Rs in 1-2 months, how much money could I save if I bought the exact same equipment? Just wondering..//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif
