8" Sub .4 cuft shallow depth suggestions?

I have .4cu ft of sealed enclosure to play with. The width of the enclosure limits me to 8" subs but the length would allow two 8" subs, albeit sharing all of .4cuft. That is before deducting the volume that the subs themselves consume.

I have 300 - 400 watts @ 2ohms to feed so it is either 1 D4 or 2 D2 subs.

The enclosure is sloped so the depth is limited by the width of the magnet. A sub with a 4" wide magnet limits me to a depth of 4.5".

Any suggestions on a sub that fits or any reason to even look at using two 8's instead of just one?

Altomobile Falstaff 8": http://altomobile.com/html/falstaff.html - 2.4" mounting depth, but it's a 4ohm subwoofer and has very limited excursion...so it won't have substantial output.

Phase Linear (Evolution) Aliante: http://www.phase-linear.de/produkte.asp?p=subwoofer&view=detail&grp=6&ser=44&nr=1360112&lang=EN - But again, very limited displacement, and single 4ohm coil

Aura Shallow-mount: http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi?cart_id=3242407.28214&pid=1706 - But it's 8ohm //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Probably your best option, IMO, if you can make it fit is the Image Dynamics ID8v3D4: http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/tech_page.php?name=ID8D4%20V.3&type=sub&id=id - 2ohm final load, power handling right in line with what you have, slightly larger recommended enclosure volume than what you have...but polyfill might help you some. 4.75" mounting depth with the magnet cover, but you can remove the cover and decrease the depth some. Good output potential aswell. It *might* fit for you.

Arc Audio 8" D4: http://www.arcaudio.com/arc-05/subwoofers/arc_8d4.htm - Same deal as above...if you remove the magnet cover, it *might* fit. Slightly smaller enclosure recommendations than the ID, so this is a good option aswell *if you can make it fit*. Good output potential aswell.

Then the Resonant Engineering RE8: http://www.reaudio.com - Dual 4ohm, around 4" mounting depth, decent power handling. Decent output.
