hey guys i currently have 2-12" premier spl subs wired to 1 ohm running off a nine.1 @ 1200w and i have been thinking of doing a more "stealthy" install so im thinking of going with 8" subs.

the thing is i wanna be as loud as i am now( or close to it) but with better sq so will 8" subs handle the job if i get enough of them?

my current thoughts are 8-8" AA assassins wired to 2ohms off a nine.1 will get 900-1000w rms vs the 2 -12" subs getting 1200. what do you guys think it will sound like?

and do you have any other reccomendations for 8" subs ?

got family trips comming up soon and would like to have some extra room in the ole minivan //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

ahh thats the trick my friend.

they are going to go under the seats its not that they will be taking up less space over all but they will be able to fit into unused space the rear seats have about a 10inch gap under them they are bench style seats.

the minivan is a nissan quest

as i said... 3 8w7's wired down to 1 ohm (since they're 3 ohms apiece) would spank the pioneers and sound **** good.
this is probably true but arent 8w7 like $300 each? if so then i would need atleast 3

that would be $900 bucks vs the 8 AA assassins which can be had for $45 each so $360 vs $900

wow first stop was ROE and they had a vid of a single rl-i 8 flexing the roof of a suv nicely! i am impressed the only thing keeping my finger off the button is the price @ 300rms i would need four of them at a $600 price tag minor ouch. would the sound from the rli justify 2x the price?

theres already a few reviews on the assassin 8's...

for $45, they are giving them away...chad said that they should be able to handle up to 500rms if you don't clip it away...

what i would do is get 8 assassins, get a amp that can do about 2000RMS and you are GOOD to GO!!!

If one's flexing the roof of an suv, you probably don't need that many!
If power's your problem, run a higher impedance, or get a diff. amp.
thats just the thing power isnt a problem thats why i am looking at the 8 AA subs i can run them at a higher impedance 2-ohm900w instead of 1200w @1ohm. nine.1 is stable down to 1 ohm.

that was the other thing i was thinking i could buy the 8 AA and run them with about 1000w rms if i wanted more power no problem buy another nine.1 strap it and get about 2500w rms each getting just over 300w rms //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
