Well the baskets are just regular Chinese baskets. I'm not sure on the soft parts though. Are they TC designed? Or a mixture of SS and TC? Or completely SS...? If they are completely SS, they why can't they just get the baskets elsewhere?

The motor is the main problem, not the top assembly.

Just because a company is declaring bankruptcy, does NOT mean they are going out of business...

^^^^ x2 Here is a little more information on the future for TC Sounds as well as SS. Including some posts from Mike himself. Take it however you like but I for one beleive that TC Sounds will come back to life again after the bankruptcy stuff is over. Yeah, if they declare bankruptcy and do NOT go out of business, they will be pissing off alot of suppliers. You dont just go bankrupt whenever you feel like it with no consequences. Bankruptcy means not all creditors are/were/will get paid, thus the inventory and asset sale.
TC declared bankruptcy, there's an auction to sell off all their stock and equipment, and people are STILL trying to convince themselves TC may live through this. Please, dont anyone hold their breath, k?

Yes, I agree but like it was said in the thread in the general section. There is nothing stopping him from buying all of his patents/stock himself and then starting another business called TD Sounds or something. It seems as though he did this but missed out on one of the patents.

I dont know but I guess we will see in the coming weeks.

That is always possible. But an owner allowing his business to fail to the point of bankruptcy, and then still having the financial means to come in and re-buy it is odd, and abit.... well Im not gonna go any further. I wish everyone the best, I dont want to see TC fail (although I think we already have), and I certainly dont want to see any consumers lose out on recones, warranty, etc. But I am saying, it looks bad, dont count on them being around or supplying any more RLi-8's. Its certainly possible, but dont hold your breath.

I could care less about TC Sounds going under. Soundsplinter will either have to buy the patents to produce the motors or find a different company to supply their motors and redesign the drivers. Eclipse uses someone else now, and I'm fairly certain that their products are still of good quality.

dont want to hijack so just wondering if someone could pm an answer but I have been looking at reviews for free air 8 inch subs to use in the rear deck of my 08 civic si coupe and can any of these be used safely in that manner?

fronts are rainbow 265.25.ng with 8120 kenwood h/u. and will probably get something like an alpine pdx 4 150.
