The 2 12" L7s are actually capable of moving nearly as much air as the 18 XXX. They've got more cone area, but less linear displacement.

With that said, if you're running 1500 watts or so to the 18, and were running 1500 to the pair of L7's, I don't think you'll see a huge increase in output. The SQ will be amazingly different, but don't expect night and day on SPL levels.

im not saying a 18XXX will be louder hands down, but um a single 18 has more Sd already than 2 12s and the XXX already has double the excursion has 32mm while the L7 i believe is only 13mm

L7 just doesn't do it justice.

I would do the single 18xxx! I would be more impressed with a single setup that sounds as good as some walls out there. Good luck!
