in case you ever expand, you got all the processing you need. a good eq can really go along ways with stock speakers

Not familiar with the 9835. Highest Alpine model I used was the 9831.....So my advice is based on that. Id take the 880 over that all day every day.

Did you like the 860? Think of the 880 as a much improved version of that.....not just the looks (which is a matter of opinion, of course) and functionality, but the build quality too.

Know how the 860 felt kind of flimsy and cheap? The 880 feels very solid.

And to the original poster, go for the 880.

Youll have more than a slight gain.........Unless you just want a color screen instead of MUCH BETTER features. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Go with the 880, I put the 860 in my car(05 Civic) with stock speakers and with the right tuning people think I got subs in the trunk. Im also getting the 880 soon.

thanks, the color screen is over rated. i thought about it... seriously, color screen for a 1dim hu is useless... thanks! ebay here i come! 300$ shipped... =]
careful, i got a severe case of bull**** with one place, it took negative feedback to hear from them to finally get any resolution, they still wasted a week of my time, and a bunch of my cellphone minutes. PM me if you want to know where not to go.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thanks for the concern... i'm getting it installed by my cousin. okay, might not be the "best" choice... but he knows a thing or two.. he installed his own alpine. i really don't want to spend money for someone to install... it can't be THAT hard... i'm sure its complicated though.

i looked up how to take my factory HU out (some site has a pdf with pix n stuff!).

is there anything else i should know about installation?

parts i need

1. 880prs

2. wireharness (where to get for a decent price... should be around $10)

3 ???

A mounting adapter kit if you don't already have one.

so basically the 880 is slightly more configuarble.... it doesn't have better SQ.. lol..im pretty sure 99.9999999% of people here wont ever use 16 band l/r... for the vast majority 16 band total is enough..

IMO it basically boils down to this, color screen VS ability to run active...

It seems like most around here think the 880 has more magic SQ dust in it or something..

i looked into the eclipse also, i would like to get the cd7000, but for the price with the ipod adapter is out of my range =\
The Eclipse wouldn't have given you much more anyway so you're getting alot more for your money with the 880.
