Here's a system I did for my friend.

The vehicle: 1978 FJ40 he has owned for the past 27 years.

Man she's sweet, I've always had a soft spot for FJ40's, this one is done perfectly. Only negative I have about it, is all the pinion angle you got for the front end
that is alot of angle lol

im confused why they would use a 5.3l chavy vortec but back it with a 3spd auto w/o overdrive.... *le head scratch

TH400's can be built to hell and can be had for relatively cheap, mounting options probably played a factor. I see that he's running an A2 xfer case, that plays into it for input shafts, range selector location etc.
